The website "Vietnam-visa.org" serves as a non-official platform for foreigners to apply for a Vietnamese visa online before arriving in the country. This convenient service supports the growing number of international travelers entering Vietnam for tourism, business, and other purposes.
The Vietnam e-Visa was first introduced in February 2017 by the Government of Vietnam as part of a pilot program to simplify visa procedures and boost tourism. Initially, it was available to citizens of 40 countries. Over the years, this program has expanded significantly.
On August 15, 2023, the e-Visa service was upgraded, allowing citizens from all countries and territories to apply for the e-Visa. This initiative was introduced under Resolution No. 127/NQ-CP, with the goal of further enhancing Vietnam’s accessibility to international travelers and streamlining entry processes. The e-Visa now allows for stays of up to 90 days, offering both single-entry and multiple-entry options. This flexibility caters to tourists, business travelers, and long-term visitors.
The e-Visa system is accepted at 16 international land ports, 13 airports, and 13 seaports, making it easier for foreign nationals to enter Vietnam through various routes. The online application process allows travelers to apply and pay for their visas without visiting a Vietnamese embassy or consulate.
As part of its launch, key government officials attended the ceremony to promote the system’s expansion. Initially limited to a select number of countries, the Vietnam e-Visa is now available globally, marking a significant development in Vietnam's efforts to boost tourism and international relations.
